This resolution also passed on January 4, 2010. I did not vote for it as I thought the residents of this township
deserve a full-time Finance Director. I also feel that the fourth paragaph does not accurately reflect what is happening.
RESOLUTION #3103
WHEREAS, the Finance Director of Marple Township was duly elected
as Delaware County Controller for an initial 4 year term commencing on January 4, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners acknowledge that the Finance Director
is also employed as the Delaware County Controller and during a normal Township work week, the Finance Director will be required
to devote time to perform County Controller duties at the County Government Center in Media; and
WHEREAS, all required Township duties and responsibilities currently
performed by the Finance Director shall remain unchanged and will continue to be performed accurately and timely to the satisfaction
of the Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has agreed to relinquish the Township’s
medical, dental, prescription, and vision benefits, in addition to reducing his annual compensation by $5,000 during his term
as County Controller, saving the Township over $31,000 in the first year alone; and
WHEREAS, all other terms, conditions, and benefits of fulltime employment
shall remain in effect. All relinquished benefits and compensation shall be restored
back to the Finance Director upon completion of the elected term of County Controller.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Commissioners agree to accept the provisions outlined above and to
direct the Township Manager to accommodate the Finance Director’s dual work schedule.
The Board, at their discretion, will re-evaluate the terms of this resolution
annually and make modifications as necessary.
RESOLVED, this 4th day of January, 2010.
